DEADLINE FOR PROPOSALS FOR 2004/05 PROJECT LIST

May 17, 2004




Draft Criteria for the Creek Restoration may include:

·      Potential for water quality improvements

·      Public accessibility

·      Potential for wildlife habitat improvements

·      Community desire/interest/support

·      Potential for hydrological improvements and flooding prevention

·      Potential for creating community stewardship

·      Trail connection

·      Feasibility

·      Potential for creating new social and economic community benefit

·      Potential opportunities to leverage funding

 

·      Draft Criteria for the Creek Habitat Acquisition may include:

·      Properties with existing creekside habitat

·      Properties with creekside native wildlife populations

·      Properties with native rainbow trout populations

·      Properties with potential for high value creek habitat restoration

·      Properties that have creekside aesthetic value and community benefit

·      Properties that provide opportunities for valuable new open space and recreation

·      Properties in the headwaters areas that may provide significant hydrological, flood control, or water quality protection value to upstream and downstream areas

·      Properties that provide valuable connectivity with other open space areas, or creek areas

·      Potential opportunities to leverage funding

·      Urgency

·      Ease of purchase or donation

·      Willingness of property owners
