Clinton Square Park: Drought-Resistant Demonstration Garden, 6th Ave. at International Avenue, Oakland CA
Project: Working with the Foundation, City staff, volunteers, and the community. Participants will plant a sustainable, drought-tolerant demonstration garden as part of a “lawn conversion/drought-resistant” grant project in Oakland. The drought-tolerant demonstration garden will be used to promote and train Oakland staff and residents regarding landscaping, climate change and sustainability. Task include installing 25 rolls of corrugated cardboard, spreading 80 yards of mulch, and planting over 200 drought-tolerant plants.
Park Services is excited to host the Foundation Volunteer Work Day at Clinton Park.
