Anne Woodell remembers falling in love with parks and the outdoors as a child growing up in Michigan. “In those days it was safe to stay outdoors all day long during the Summer time”, she says. “We always had access to a large park near our house. I was the only daughter, and had three brothers. We all played sports, including basketball. I always kept up with them!”

Please join the Friends of Oakland Parks and Recreation for an afternoon of fall fun! Pumpkins for sale, Timbuk2 bags will be auctioned off,  pies and BBQ lunchs will be sold, and there will be plenty of games (including a bouncy-house) for kids of all ages! Sunday, October 16, noon – 4pm; at Oakland’s Dimond Park. Bring your family; bring your friends to the Fall Harvest Festival!

Admission is free and all funds raised at the event go directly to Friends’ Oakland Youth Scholarship program. The program benefits kids from financially stressed families all across Oakland; enabling them to participate in OPR recreation centers activities and program.
