GRANT PROGRAMS
FOPR
looks for projects which touch one of the following areas in Oakland’s parks,
facilities, community gardens or open spaces. We focus in three areas:
Recreation: physical play or amusement used to enhance the body and mind.
Beautification: the growing of flowers, fruits, vegetables or plants and
the protection of our environment.
Education: cultural appreciation of the heritage, traditions, art and life
styles of different peoples.
FOPR has
awarded over 300 grants to programs/organizations including:

Oakland Fine Arts Summer School.

Butterfly Garden at the Lakeside Horticulture Center.

Soccer,
Volleyball, Basketball, Bowling and Roller Hockey Equipment

Poetry Writing

Nature
Walk Project

usually award grants 3 times a year in the Spring, Summer and Fall.
The next Grants Deadline is February 1st, 2008 by noon. The other
application deadlines for 2008 are February 1, April 1 and July 1. If you
