Ira Jinkins is a multi-purpose life enrichment
center serving East Oakland. Facilities include the Ira Jinkins Recreation
Center, East Oakland Multipurpose Senior Center, Brookfield Branch Library, and
Brookfield Head Start Center.
Program highlights: Before and after-school
care; cooking classes (ages 3-12); elementary drop-in; teen/young adult drop-in;
teen/young adult weight training; Teen Club, including dance, excursions and
"Just Say No" Youth Power.
Summer Camps
Brookfield Summer Camp (ages 3-13, $25 registration + $50/week); Pee Wee
sports/basketball (ages 3-6, $25 T-shirt/shorts/trophy); Pee Wee sports/T-ball
(ages 6 to 8, $10 T-shirt/hat).
Amenities
Ball fields, tennis courts, play area and picnic tables and small pits with
benches. Adult exercise program and walking group during the spring and summer.
Advisory Council meets at 6 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. |
