Creek To Bay Day - Fern Ravine Trail Restoration Workday

  • 10013 Skyline Blvd, Oakland, CA 94611, USA (map)

Come celebrate Creek To Bay Day by volunteering with Friends of Sausal Creek. Your efforts will help protect native plant and wildlife habitat, help keep communities safe and more climate-resilient, and improve accessibility for more people to enjoy our Oakland parks.

Fern Ravine is a unique intersection of ecosystems where oak woodland, shrub-scrub, grassland, wetland, and redwood forest ecosystems meet. As a headwater tributary stream, the Fern Ravine Creek that connects these zones plays a critical role in maintaining the health of the entire Sausal Creek Watershed.

Join us for a habitat restoration workday of weeding and mulching in Fern Ravine. The workday will begin with a brief tour of the wetland and redwood restoration at this site which FOSC has been stewarding for over a decade.
