We will continue doing weed removals and sheet mulching to care for the native coast live oaks in the Park. Gardening tools and snacks will be provided. The event will last from 9 to noon, but we'll see you when you stop by to help! RSVP at jason@lakemc.org
FOSC Dimond Canyon Restoration Workday
Join Friends of Sausal Creek for a morning of restoration along Sausal Creek! FOSC is working to spruce up restoration sites throughout the watershed. For this event we will work to remove invasive plants in Dimond Canyon. Come on out to help us protect native plants and keep invasives at bay!

Fern Ravine is a unique intersection of ecosystems where oak woodland, shrub-scrub, grassland, wetland, and redwood forest ecosystems meet. As a headwater tributary stream, the Fern Ravine Creek that connects these zones plays a critical role in maintaining the health of the entire Sausal Creek Watershed.
Join Friends of Sausal Creek for a habitat restoration workday of weeding in Fern Ravine. The workday will begin with a brief tour of the wetland and redwood restoration at this site which FOSC has been stewarding for over a decade.

Oakland Goes Outdoors 1000th Trip Community Celebration & Trivia Night
Join us for a joyful evening as we celebrate a major milestone, serving Oakland students with 1,000 outdoor immersive experiences, since Oakland Goes Outdoors (OGO) was launched in 2018. We’re bringing together educators, partners, supporters and community members for a casual, high-energy night filled with connection, storytelling, and a little friendly competition. Test your knowledge with nature and outdoors trivia, hear highlights from our educators and students, and be part of a community that believes every young person deserves access to the outdoors. Oakland Goes Outdoors is a program in partnership with Oakland Unified School District that ensures all students can experience meaningful time outdoors as part of their school day.

Friends of Joaquin Miller Park Earth Day
This event will have volunteers at work stations to work on protecting redwoods with fencing, improving directional signage and improving gates and posts. You can volunteer to work at a work station, at registration, help orient volunteers and with other volunteer opportunities.

Temescal Neighbors is partnering with Sidewalk Trees & Gardens to plant 23 new street trees—and we need your help! Join your neighbors for a joyful, hands-on morning of digging, planting, mulching, and making our streets greener and cooler for everyone.
Whether you're an experienced gardener or just tree-curious, there’s a role for you. We’ll kick things off with coffee, donuts, training on how to plant the trees, and team assignments. Tools and a water dispenser will be provided, but feel free to bring your own shovel, gloves, and refillable water bottle if you have them.
Together, we’re growing a stronger, greener Oakland—one tree at a time.
