Fresh Progress at Courtland Creek Park

There is fresh progress to share about the restoration of Courtland Creek Park! It is terrific to be working together with the Friends of Courtland Creek Park, Oakland Public Works and Councilmember Sheng Thao.

On March 1, Oakland’s Watershed and Stormwater Management Division received a $2 million award from the Caltrans Clean California Local Grant Program to fill the Courtland Creek restoration project’s funding gap!

As the project’s public engagement partner, our team is working with City staff, local high schools and buildOn to solicit student design input and conduct service activities such as painting, litter removal and weeding.

This spring, City staff will present draft project documents to gather community feedback and share how input from our July 2021 public meetings has been incorporated into design elements.

You are invited to join the Friends of Courtland Creek at 7PM on March 10 via Zoom to make plans for an Earth Day event at Courtland Creek Park. Please come and share your ideas!
