Run, Don’t Walk, to this Volunteer Opportunity

The Oakland Running Festival returns on March 20, 2022!

As a longtime sponsor of the Oakland Parks and Recreation Foundation and corporate Adopt-A-Spot steward of Snow Park near Lake Merritt, the Oakland Running Festival connects recreation and community.

“The whole point of parks is for people to be out there using them,” says Race Director Lena Zentgraf. “There’s such a clear connection between volunteerism and park activation, from park clean ups leading to family birthday parties, all the way to our 20,000 person event. Parks showcase what’s great about Oakland.”

Over 1,000 volunteers are needed to make the Oakland Running Festival reach the finish line. You can join a neighborhood water stop, support the pre-race Health and Fitness Expo or help with race day tasks like bag checks and course set up.
